the relationship between north and south korea is such that 1) they're opening an inter-korean railway, 2) they sent a joint team to the olympics, 3) south korean business has invested billions at gaeseong industrial complex in north korea, 4) in 2000, south korean president kim daejung and north korean president kim jongil had an inter-korean summit where they declared that they would foster peace and ties on the peninsula, 5) this year on may 10th, 370 south korean university students had a summit with 120 north korean students in north korea... it's safe enough for all that... nevermind the size of the south korean army is like at what, 700,000 men? and all the money south korea spends on new weapons while the north has dilapidaded, outdated, falling-apart shit... nevermind that north korea is reportedly starving to death, so how could they feed an army?

AND the US is reducing troop numbers. by like 10,000? yet - the US needs to expand a base. to protect south korea. and the base is like 100 miles south of the DMZ.

i do not follow this logic at all.

never mind that in 2003, i think it was, Jack Pritchard, a North Korean Specialist for the State Department resigned in frustration at the amateurish and doomed approach to diplomacy of the Bush administration in North Korea. (ie, the Bush regime trying to bully everyone with his big guns).

c'mon. bush wants yet another war. the expansion at humphreys has nothing to do with protecting korea. this is bullshit.
