First of all, perhaps everyone knows, S. Korean gov’t before yesterday in the morning sent the troops to Iraq. Sources from inside of Their Close Party (they call it “Our Open Party”/열린우리당) said some days before that they expecting 500 death S. Korean soldiers - “The Americans have until now more than 900 killed soldiers to lament…” the source said.
What the meaning of this? At first: they don’t care about the life of their soldiers. In fact they don’t see them as human beings! For the gov’t the soldiers are just cannon fodder, nothing else.
On the other side it means that even the next Korean will come back, chopped up (by so called Iraqi resistance) in a lot of small bloody pieces, the gov’t will not care!
So, just we, the masses here, will have the power (or not) to change the schedule. Just our resistance can change something. Just our daily mass resistance might be able to bring back the troops. And no hunger strike, no sit-in struggle (and of course no self”important” anti-war forum) can change gov’t’s decision – only direct and daily mass actions might be able…
Some weeks ago in Greece the situation was similar. Asked what to do, if the gov’t don’t respect the will of the majority of the Greek population, one of the leaders of the anti-war movement answered “All the trade unions will call for general strike”. And one leader of the most strongest trade unions there: “They will get massive daily public disorder, all over the country. Even they (Greece gov’t) will get no sleep anymore – we’ll drive them crazy!”…
Perhaps you know this picture (before yesterday some hundred people were protesting against the troop dispatch. Lee Seong-soon, beside others, was injured by the riot cops/herecolor> you can read a Korean article about the rally)

If we are only a small number of protesters, if we are not offensive enough, day by day they treat us like that!

Beside this issue our, migrant workers struggle is continuing. Daily we have the

<집회공지> 강제추방 저지를 위한 출입국관리소 앞 4차 목요 집중집회


8월 5일 목동 '출입국관리소' 앞에서 <강제추방 저지와 이주노동자 전면 합법화를 위한 공동실천단 준비모임>의 4차 목요집중 투쟁이 열립니다.


8월 17일 '고용허가제' 실시를 앞두고 갈수록 광폭해지는 노무현 정부의 인간사냥을 규탄 저지시키고, 미등록 장기체류 이주노동자들의 전면 합법화(영주권 보장)를 촉구하는 투쟁입니다. 또한, 산업연수생제도와 근본적으로 다르지 않는 기만적인 고용허가제를 전면 재검토시키고, 노동비자를 쟁취하고자 하는 투쟁입니다.


최저생계비에도 못 미치는 저임금으로 이주노동자들을 착취하고, 단기순환정책으로 이주노동자들의 노동자성을 부정하며, 최소한의 노동권리를 사전 봉쇄하려는 노무현정부와 자본의 음모를 박살내고, 반드시 <노동비자 쟁취와 5년 이상 장기체류 이주노동자들의 영주권 보장>을 강철같은 연대투쟁으로 쟁취합시다.


노동자는 하나다!
